The second part of the article about Nglinggo would elaborate more on the details of some to-do-list that you could do there.
What to do:
- Tea walk experience
The most highlighted agenda at Nglinggo Village would be the tea walk experience. In order to enjoy this unique experience, the visitors should head straight to the tea plantation. While walking along the path in between of the tea leaves, you would be served by the surrounding scenic view that looks like an endless giant green carpet rolled out in front of you. If you want to witness more beauty from our mother nature, head to the top hill of the plantation. The journey might be challenging as you have to climb up quite a number of bamboo stairs, but the efforts would be paid off once you reach the top. There, you could witness the majestic views of the neighboring mountains’s hills like Hill Dempok and Hill Kendeng which are part of Mount Kukusan located in Magelang (neighboring city). Afterwards, you could replenish your energy by enjoying a cup of sangit tea right on the plantation. This tea is known for its unique smokey flavor since it is fried traditionally without oil. And don’t forget to take some pictures in this scenic plantation to complete your tea walk experience.
- Cultural experience
In addition to the tea walk, visitors could also experience a wide range of cultural activities ranging from learning the local dance known as Lengger Tapeng Dance to learning how to make batik (traditional hand drawn cloth). If you are into cooking, there are also a wide range of activities for you to choose from. You could arrange a visit to observe and learn how to make the famous sangit tea, the local black coffee or the gula aren (brown sugar). To make things even more interesting, you could also experience how to tend the local livestocks like goats. In other words, you don’t have to worry about finding exciting things to do while you are at Nglinggo Village.
- Exploring the nature
Last but not least, is of course, the experience of exploring the nature at Nglinggo Village. One place that you should put on your list is Curug Watu Jonggol Waterfall. Visitors who want to go there should prepare themselves to trek along a challenging route. In return, you could experience a very natural setting complete with the plants and animals. It would truly be one of that rare opportunities when you could be one with mother nature.
